Hi!
I am a Tallinn based—often hoovering elsewhere—visual researcher, graphic designer & an experimental film-maker. I like to tell stories about people and have a little fun watching them. I blend ethnographic research and auto-fiction to connect with the stories from the periphery. I dig in the heritage knowledge passed down on the grounds of Estonia, and scans how folk objects and crafts continue to shape personal and political identities in modern times.
Currently, I am researching indigenous wedding traditions on the isle of Kihnu and in August I will be attending Kordon Residency to film fisher(wo)men on an Estonian island called Hiiumaa.
XOXO
Mia
